Almost 20 years ago, I envisioned the niche-focused insight of lawyers being shared in blogs instantly appearing as lawyers worked on documents, pleadings and the like.
You know you’re working on something and counsel just surfaces without doing research or heading to a form book. Maybe you ask for the advice or you are corrected or delivered a new cleanse.
Maybe the author of the published work generating this counsel shows up. You drop them an email for further insight.
Higher quality legal delivered service by getting the best minds involved and done so more efficiently.
That was back when LexBlog was in the Merrill Place Building in Pioneer Square in Seattle. The building often called the birthplace of desktop publishing with Aldus, of PageMaker fame, the anchor tenant, with Adobe inheriting the space.
Anyway, I looked out the window one night and thought this has to happen. All this passion and expertise in digital publishing by legal professionals. When it’s connected we bring access to the law to the public and legal professionals.
I thought we’d be there on the publishing side and that there would be something else we’d connect to. Something developed by companies larger than us. Had no idea who they’d be, when, or how.
Well, the day is here and the insight is coming from legal publishing in formats other than just blogs. 😊
