A Texas man was recently arrested for breaking into another man’s house and threatening him with a knife so the homeowner would stop talking to the homeowner’s ex-wife, Lone Star law enforcement says.

Henry Walter Chapman III, 61, stands accused of one count of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, according to a press release issued by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on Oct. 12 at a residence on Fairway Bridge Drive in far north San Antonio, authorities say.

The defendant arrived at the house around 4:20 p.m. and came to the door, saying he was associated with a group called “Night Stalkers,” according to an arrest affidavit obtained by San Antonio-based ABC affiliate KSAT.

Then he allegedly said he was there to deliver a warning.

As the homeowner tried to close his door, Chapman kicked it open and walked inside, the sheriff’s office said.

The defendant then moved toward the homeowner while brandishing a knife, according to the charging document.

Then, Chapman allegedly stabbed the kitchen island as he demanded the homeowner message his ex-wife and promise that the homeowner would stop communicating with her, the sheriff’s office said.

“We will be back,” Chapman allegedly told the homeowner, threatening a repeat visit if the homeowner did not comply, the affidavit alleges.

The homeowner’s daughters were in the residence at the time.

The daughters watched it all go down from a second-floor balcony, according to the charging document. The pair corroborated the homeowner’s version of events, the sheriff’s office said.

Using surveillance footage, law enforcement tracked down the car believed to have been used in the incident. Records showed the vehicle, a black Mercedes C300, had been loaned to Chapman from Oct. 9 through Oct. 15, according to the affidavit.

The defendant was arrested on Nov. 2. He is being detained in the Bexar County Jail on $50,000 bond, according to KSAT.
