On 7 August 2026, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) updated its webpage on submitting a prospectus or circular by adding a new requirement to the section on inside information declaration. The section explains that for equity cases, an inside information declaration form needs to be submitted with the first submission, stating whether the submission contains inside information. If it does, an explanation needs to be given as to what that information is. The FCA explains that it needs this information so it can apply the appropriate internal controls when reviewing the submission. It also adds that from 21 September 2026, all first submissions of equity documents, including guidance requests, must include this form. The FCA will not allocate the case for review until it receives a completed form. The inside information declaration can be found on the FCA’s forms and checklist webpage.
