Woman tried to run over her ex-boyfriend while he held their 1-year-old child weeks after taking the baby without consent: Police

A Louisiana woman is accused of trying to run over her ex-boyfriend while he held their 1-year-old child after smashing the windshields of two vehicles on the property.

Latangie Monic Noiel has been charged with domestic abuse aggravated assault, burglary of an inhabited dwelling, interference with child custody, and property damage, the Shreveport Police Department announced. Her age is unclear.

On June 25, Noiel allegedly went to her ex-boyfriend’s home on the 4600 block of Westwood Park Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. The city is located in the northwest of the state, about 325 miles from New Orleans.

Noiel shared a 1-year-old child with her ex-boyfriend, and, according to police, the man had been granted temporary sole custody of the baby through Caddo District Court.

After arriving at the home, the defendant “is accused of damaging a door and window to gain entry into the home before removing the child without the father’s consent while he was tending to dogs in the backyard,” the police department said. Police said video footage documented the incident.

About a month later, on July 30, Noiel reportedly showed up at the same home and “smashed the windshields of two vehicles.” According to investigators, she then “attempted to strike the victim with her vehicle while he was standing in the front yard” holding their child.

The man reported the incident — and had video evidence of the alleged attack — and police responded to the scene. It was at this point that “detectives uncovered” the earlier incident.

On Aug. 13, Noiel “agreed to meet with investigators for an interview but declined to provide a statement,” according to the police department.

Officers then arrested and booked her into the Shreveport City Jail.
