Woman held gun to girl's head and threatened to kill her on her birthday, man vowed to rip out victim's earrings: Deputies

A couple in Louisiana was thrown behind bars after authorities say they beat and threatened children for years, with one defendant allegedly holding a gun to a victim’s head and threatening to kill her.

Daniel Daigle, 38, and Sariee Daigle, 36, were each booked in the Beauregard Parish Jail in DeRidder on a charge of cruelty to juveniles, jail records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

Sariee Daigle also faces a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, local NBC and The CW affiliate KPLC reported.

According to incident reports from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office reviewed by the TV station, two victims reported that the defendants choked, kicked, punched and beat them with objects. The victims allegedly said they were abused every week and that Daniel and Sariee Daigle lied about where the children’s bruises came from.

The relationship between the suspects and victims is unclear.

One victim said Sariee Daigle threatened to kill her and herself while holding a gun to her head on the kid’s birthday, authorities recalled. The girl called it “the worst thing that ever happened to her,” also alleging that the woman once put a knife to her throat and held her against a wall by her neck.

The children allegedly told someone years ago that they were being abused and they were put in the care of a family friend, authorities say. The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services investigated, and the couple was arrested.

The defendants reportedly called those arrests a misunderstanding, and the abuse allegedly continued.

In July, authorities got involved again after one of the children said at church that Daniel Daigle had threatened to rip out her earrings, according to KPLC. Deputies then went to the couple’s home and arrested Sariee Daigle. Daniel Daigle later turned himself in.
