According to a September 28 report on News 12 Long Island, Hicksville dentist Suleman Nasimi and his Queens practice, Tooth Fresh Meadows, face felony charges arising from allegations that Medicaid paid more than $300,000 for dental services from January 2020 through August 2024 that were not provided. Prosecutors allege that the claims included more than $140,000 for services purportedly rendered while the office was closed and Nasimi was vacationing abroad.
The charges include grand larceny, healthcare fraud, and offering a false instrument for filing. The Office of the Attorney General also claims that some patients could not obtain needed treatment because Medicaid records incorrectly showed that the services had already been provided.
