The 19th Annual International Conference on Contracts (KCON XIX) will take place at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law on Friday, March 19th and Saturday, March 20th, 2027. If you have come before, I hope you will consider sending an abstract and joining us again. If you have not come before, you should try it. It’s a lovely conference and a great in to the contracts community. If you are new to contracts scholarship, this is a supportive community where you will receive useful commentary and encouragement for your work. Most of all, if you know young academics looking to publish in private law, encourage them to come to KCON.
At this year’s conference, we will honor three distinguished scholars in Contract Law. Professor Lisa Bernstein will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the field.
Professor Robert E. Scott, will also receive the Lifetime Achievement Award this year, having been unable to attend last year’s conference.
Finally, Professor William C. Whitford will receive the Lifetime Service Award for advancing the law-in-action perspective on contract. I hope you can join us to celebrate the work of these giants of our field.
KCON strives to be an open community for supporting and enriching scholarship. It welcomes presentations on projects at every level of development, including recently published articles, drafts, works-in-progress, preliminary ideas, and thought experiments. It provides an unparalleled opportunity to engage with colleagues and potential collaborators and mentors in the field. Junior scholars are especially encouraged to participate.
You can register here and submit your paper proposal here. The deadline for submissions is this Friday, November 6th.
